Allison and Lillia: Surprisingly Good

Yes, I complained about how physics in this anime being wrong; Yes, I complained about people in this anime are just plain heartless; But that does not preventing it from being a great anime. Once a while, there are some animes that just completely exceed my expection. Allison and Lillia is such example.

In the beginning, I wasn't really fond of its art style. Then I thought the storyline seemed to be too disconnected to be anything good. Well, I was wrong (I think I've admitted that last time already). Allison and Lillia turned out to be one of the top animes of the year! Yes, it is that good.

Even though the story is somewhat disconnected, it had very good bridging between them. On top of that, it cashes in on the benefit of being many mostly disconnected short segments: you don't have to try to remember everything early on to try to understand the story better.

The art work? Well, when you have a story this good, you tend to forget about what you don't like about its art.

I really really want to give Allison and Lillia an award. But drama category is already overcrowded with Shana II and Macross Frontier, and the light drama category has already been crowned to Library War, which I really don't want to remove any of its awards nor share them. Now I'm facing yet another difficult decision how I want to rate and award an anime.

New rating (out of 5): 4.7 (net gain: +0.2) ~ Superb
