Come to think of it, Kimi ni Todoke is really just another shy girl meets popular guy anime. The only difference, in comparison to other anime/manga of same type, is that Sawako is a lot more aware of her situation when it comes to social situation and she's a lot more oblivious when it comes to detecting the guy's feeling.
Don't get me wrong, I loved this anime. In fact, this is one of the best stories of this type I've seen lately. Though not quite as moving, but I'd put it up near Bakura ga Ita, which is one of my all time favorite stories of the similar type.
Another thing about Kimi ni Todoke is that it felt real. Unlike many other shoujo story, which felt they can only exist in books, Kimi ni Todoke actually felt quite really. Because of that, it's a lot easier to attach to the character and feel their happiness as well as their pain.

I have to admit that its an amazing show... but whats with that ending? i was hoping from the start that they would kiss and all that love crap (which i love) that ending made me angry and sad
i knew from the beginning the ending is probably going to be left open, so I didn't have too much of a problem with it. Compare to most other shoujo animes, this probably has a better ending than most of them.

He is leaving thinking about her and stuff then she holds his shirt from behind like she did after Pin told her to and they it ended with him turning around and stuff it would be much cuter :P
