[New October 2010] Bakuman

Japanese title: バクマン。
Info/download: http://animesuki.com/series.php/1695.html

Genres: Light Comedy / Light Drama / Slice of life
I've watched: 1 episode

Summary: A story about two
guys who want to become mangakas.

First impression score: 86 ~ Fun

Personal comments: It's a mixture of very light drama plus very light comedy.
On top of that, a little light romance is thrown in just to spice things up. Judging from the setup of this opening episode, it seems that we are probably not going to see any thing close to the conclusion of the story by the time this anime series ends. You'll know what I'm talking about when you see the end of episode one.

i would say that it has a sloppy concept, but in the last years ANYTHiNG can be made into anime.
There will always be some people who wil like it for its "new" look on things, or something like that.

Personally I think it is a good fit for the creator of Death Note. I actually have read the manga to current, and I have to say the writing is pretty good. However, it shares the same problem as Death Note where the author doesn't know when to start ending the series.

Also, if this is really only 25 episodes then I am going to be disappointed.

The problem with this story that Death Note didn't have to deal with is the fact this very first episode had set the goal for the entire story. So if they don't end the series there, everybody is going to be disappointed. But if they do end the series there, everything is just way too predictable. So he basically trapped himself from the beginning. It'd be interesting to see how he can get out of it.
