Mononoke: A different kind of creepiness

Currently finished: episode 10

When you combine crazy acid trip visual with creepy mysteries, it creates something that is much more than the sum of the two. Mononoke is exactly that.

At first, I didn't like the visual effect at all. It's a bit too.....Picasso like. Like my earlier review said, it feels more like a acid trip, except it's a much creepier one. However, it is this acid like visual effects take the creepiness of the story into a new level.

I've heard that many people just simply couldn't stand this kind of visual, regardless how good the content is. Well, I kind of understant how they feel. But I have to say, they're skipping out on maybe one of the best horror/mystery anime genres.
